Knightly Revenge: Cowboy edition is a 2D platformer hack-and-slash where you take the role of a Knight who seeks to take revenge on the cowboys for degrading knighthoods while only use his trustworthy sword.

=== Controls ===

  • 2D movement using [A] & [D].
  • Crouch using [S].
  • Jump using [Space].
  • Attack/Sword swing using [Left-mouse-button].
  • Dash/Dodge using [Right-mouse-button].
  • Activate combo using [E].
  • and also [ESC] to pause and unpause

=== Project Reflection ===

This was made back in 2nd Semester of 1st Year in Computer Games Design and Programming in BUV.

Honestly, it was my first time learning of asset flipping/using others assets in your game. I also learned to do Animation, how to work with 2D sprites, and tile sets which were fun to design levels with.

This project was also the first time I put the theory of State Machines to the test, implementing a some what complex Enemy AI, which were honestly the highlight of the project. 

Enemies can detect when you are nearby, can fire at you, can get confused if you dash through them, they can even jump and reload, etc. This makes them seems way smarter than they are.

Overally, I had a good time working on this project, making something that I would have thought to be impossible as a child. My only regret was the terrible dialogue writings and gameplay flow cutting.
